Gotta love this shot. Beautiful bird, nice supporting vegetation, and gorgeous BG. Looks like he's been enjoying the nice ripe cherries choke cherry?). Well seen and from a distance (that gigantic lens must have given you) to not disturb the bird.

Great shot, lovely color and background. Did you consider a vertical crop? The OOF spots on the right distract from the lovely bird.

Very nice rich image. Nice tones. I like the pose and the perch with the berries. Large version is showing a bit of noise in the background that would be easily solved with selective Noise Reduction.

Love the rich green background and the perch great. Nice pose on the Waxwing, like that you got the colors on the tail and the wings. Excellent work.

Excellent, Doug. The bird's pose and the habitat are very good. Keith is right about the noise in the larger version. I'm surprised to see so much noise from a Nikon D3 at ISO1000. Is this a heavy crop?

The only thing I don't like about this is that I didn't take it. If it were mine, I would have tried to go vertical, but if you were skillful enough to get this shot, I assume you tried different crops, and this is the one that works for you. (It's gorgeous as is).
