This was taken with a 105mm lens plus a T6 adaptor.

The Tulip was a gorgeous shade of Apricot.

A flash was used to light the interior of the Tulip and while the colors in the original were wild, I opted to use black and white + a peach-colored layer set to Color in the Blending mode. I want you the viewer to focus on the details and shapes of the stigma and the anthers.

You can see a black and white version of this at the Purchase Print URL. The jury is still out but I think I like this version better.

The timing was 1 s, ISO 200, matrix metering, f/29. And of course a tripod and remote shutter release were used.

C&C more than welcome.

Cheers,
Carol

Interesting and original macro image of the interior of a tulip. You actually have three versions given how different one is from the color one on your website. I prefer this color version, and the color in the other is very strong. I might like something in between the two color versions. As for the B&W, BW flora images aren't my thing, but I like that version maybe even the best of the three. :wavey:

I'm with Scott in liking the color version on your web site the best of the three. The b&w version does show off the shapes of the stigma and anthers really well and the colors in this version blend nicely, but the original colors really pop. The details in the stigma are outstanding.

Love the extreme closeup view Carol, 'other worldly' comes to mind.
Excellent details, like the color version best! :toast:

Very nice macro shot here, Carol. I really like the placement of the main features of the flower in the frame as you've posted it. I prefer the color version, but that can be based upon my own bias of shooting 99.999% color myself.....
