With a little bit of cramming. I held a branch with a couple of Asters using a plamp close to the front element as I shot this.

LARGE VERSION <--- Link to Large version.

Added Later : After seeing the feedback from Vance about the bright patch in the URC, Here is Another Version

Thanks a lot for your comments on Hosta Leaf in B&W and let me know what you think of this one.

Hi Ram,

I like the selected range of focus on the center elements and the OOF asters adds some balance with the white triangle on the upper RH corner............................Jim

"I held a branch with a couple of Asters using a plamp close to the front element as I shot this." This is cheating, Ram.
Kidding, of course. Expertly done to achieve a very pleasing and artistic result. :toast:

Scott - Well, Cheating is Cheating and I have done it in good measure but in this case the flowers were actually touching the front element. I did not want them to mess up the glass so I had to arrange them an inch or so away from the front element

Your technique achieved a wonderful, delicate look to this image. I might try and darken slightly the out of focus highlight in the upper right hand corner, mainly so that that area doesn't pull the eye from the beauty of the flower. A very minor suggestion as this is outstanding.

Ram, all I can say is that I like the thumbnail. I mentioned to you in a previous post that I couldn't view your images. I finally figured out the problem. My computer clock is off. When I try to access a secure website, the the time on my computer has to match theirs or no access. Guess I'll have to try and change my battery.

Definitely like the second version better. Nice comp, perfectly focused, with just the right DOF. :toast:

Ram: This is just superb! I might give the repost a very slight edge but this does work for me very well as is. Most excellent. >=))>

The cram works beautifully, Ram, for giving the flower a dreamy feel. Not much in it, but I think I marginally prefer your original version as the white seems to balance the purple in the bottom L corner.
