thors well low tide

On a recent trip to Portland, OR I made the giant swing around the entire state. As for everyone, you have to work with the weather and conditions that you're given. This is a shot of Thor's well at Cape Perpetua. Very different from the usual as the tide was low. The reflections were nice however. I am really looking forward to a return trip for the fall colors.
Shot with Canon 5D3, 16-35 at 18mm, ISO 100, f13, 1/5 sec
Please give me your thoughts.

Having shot there myself just a few weeks back I am very impressed with your low tide version. The sky looks great and so is the reflection. It's good to try something different and this has certainly worked.

The reflections are indeed nice and the splash add some good interest. The splash in the well and the surf in the middle ground look distinctly blue.

Interesting to see this location at low tide. The layers in the composition work well. Some of the highlights in the sky could be better controlled.

I like the energy this conveys Gary and the golden light. I also like the complementary colors and the rock textures. I like the image as posted - no suggestions.

Thanks for the comments. KK I will pull the highlights down and see if it is better. I wonder if it wouldn't be a better shot without the water in the well allowing your eye to focus on the reflection.

The foreground reflection of the warm clouds is really nice. Good control of the light as well. :toast:

I really like the light and reflections here - as well as the exploding wave in the well. Nice timing to capture that moment!!

Beautiful, I like the reflection, the splash of the water and the color of the sky.

This is very dynamic. You did a good job controlling difficult lighting. I do see a cyan/blue cast as Mark mentioned, and you might work on the sky a bit in terms of darkening the darker clouds and taming the highlight's somewhat.. I like the composition.

I like the textures throughout the frame both in the rocks and the sky. There are some nice warm/cool color contrasts going on here as well, thought they weren't obvious at first.

Very cool shot especially with the nice reflections! :toast:

Wish the sky was not clipped in areas. Did you bracket for dynamic range to get those areas in check?
