This is something you do not see everyday, we missed the kill by around a minute. Here the Secretary Bird is showing how to tear a Puff Adder apart.
Taken in Meru National Park, Kenya

EOS 1DX
200-400 mm F4 with 1.4 EX at 560mm
F7.1
ISO 1600
1/640

Secretary Bird? don't you mean Long Legged Snake Eagle?

only kidding Ken, I know you love all these name changes.

It must have been fascinating to witness. Such a shame you weren't a minute sooner.

Great pose and action, Ken. I like the raised leg and the posture makes for a nice composition.
