Driving to Houston I saw this lily pond luring me off the highway and back down a farm market road. Never pass up a shot.

I left the hint of spider web in on bottom right. maybe not?

Beautiful color and detail in the lily. I like the colors of the OOF lily pads in the bg. If the white spots are the hint of spider web you mentioned, I think I would remove them.

Rick-Usually people mistake Lily for Lotus. This is a Lotus - which has a big pyramid like structure in the center which is absent in the case of Water Lily.

I like your processing which has accentuated the glow at the center. Wish the stem in the lower right was not there but its dark enough to become a big distraction.

Great work on the lighting, Rick ! Love the orange glow in the centre - and the backdrop is splendid in its depth and sombre colouring.

Ram is correct. This is an American Lotus. Also, Lotus sits on a fairly long stem above the water, while a water lily is at or near the water on a short stem.

I would clone out the white spots (dew on spider web?). If you use PS, since CS6 it has had content aware patch tool that would probably do an excellent job of removing the dark stem on the right, although it is not a terrible distraction.

I love all the different colors contained in this lotus. All around fine shot, except for the diagonal stem that others have mentioned. :toast:

I like this …a lot! Details and the pop against the blue-green background is excellent. Inner glow looks like there is a burning candle within…sweet one!
