OK, I suppose this falls in the category of Man vs. Nature, or vice a versa. This is about five miles from a major national wildlife refuge in the Sacramento Valley of Northern California. That rice straw residue provides a lot of feed for the millions of waterfowl that migrate through the area every Fall/Winter/Spring. It has been great to see what seems to be a rebound in the numbers of waterfowl in recent years since the State curtailed much of the straw burning. Hope you enjoy. Taken in 2007.

Canon Rebel XT, f14, 1/400 sec, iso 400, 55 mm (18-55 lens), full size.

Hey Ed,
What a great image of 'Wet Lands'!
Man-O-Man, I have been stuck before but this is past the axle in the rear, even the tow chain and strap on the front has disappeared into the wet land. Glad to hear the waterfowl are rebounding.
Great post . . . :toast:

Neat shot, Ed. The crispness is palpable and the colors show well under the overcast sky. That tractor is really in deep.

OK, so I guess those are grain silos in the background and the tractor probably sat there until everything dried up. This is a pretty striking photo with the tractor in the foreground, all the water, and the lowering sky. Nice to hear that someone in the state thought it might be a good idea to stop burning.
