Egret with Scarlet Ibis

A shot from our Trinidad and Tobago tour. I liked how the one egret stuck out in the group of ibis and positioned my camera so I had both the best background and the egret toward one side of the frame. At this point the light was pretty low as you can see from the techs. Taken from a tripod in a boat. This one is best viewed larger.

Cool shot Nate-love the contrast of the lone Egret from the Scarlets.

Makes finding Waldo easy. Love the contrast of the white against the red and green.

Hey Nate,

Pretty darned cool! In a perfect world I guess one could ask for non-overlap between the Egret and the Ibises behind it, but that's asking a whole lot! Very striking as posted.

Cheers...

Very cool comp and well seen Nate, I do agree with Brad that ideally I wish there wasn't any overlap, but that is me getting very nit picky...love the concept and execution as presented as well. :toast:

Caroni Swamp at sunset? One of the most stunning birding destinations on the planet. Nicely done, Nate.

Man, that Scarlet ibis is something else. Very cool contrast between the two species here, Nate.

Tough shot Nate.
Getting th exposure right so that you have enough detail in the red ibis's and avoid blowing out the white on the egret. Good job. :toast:

What a neat capture Nate. The fact that you captured this in a boat with only 1/50 shutter speed speaks volumes. Way to go!!! The crop is perfect. The overlapping birds don't really bother me and I didn't even notice it until I read some of the other reviews. I gotta get there one of these trips. :toast:
