Velvet Buck

I visited the local Nature Center today for the first time in a few months. I found this velvet buck resting after the thunderstorms that rolled through this afternoon. The red coat is beautiful and those velvet antlers are always amazing. He was checking me out, as I apparently disturbed his nap. Processed using Photoshop CS3, NeatImage and LightZone. Comments and critiques welcome.

Nice on Jerry, I like the over the shoulder gaze of the deer. If anything it may be cropped to tight. Nice color and details. Thanks for sharing.

The simple green surroundings helps to keep the attention on the eyes and those antlers. Nicely composed. :toast:

Fine look at this good sized buck, Jerry. The overcast lets the colors in his coat show very well.

Love the pose and the grass blades in focus too !
It's coat resembles the coat of Barking Deer in India.
