Male and female oryx (Gemsbok) with a springbok.
This is a good illustration of the difference between male and female oryx (other than the obvious, which can't be seen at any distance).
The male, left, has long straight horns. The female, right, had wider-set, shorter horns that curve at the top.

Etosha, Namibia, salt pan

It is nice to know that another species is different than the male by the presence of curves (again. aside from a few obvious attributes). What's up with the two zebras?

Excellent documentary capture, Sandy. I wondered about the status of the horizontal zebra!

Both zebras are alive and well. They lay down to nap and rest... if it had been dying or dead, there would have been 100 vultures in the picture also, lying in wait!

Sandy,
Great capture of the feel of Etosha, and it seems you have a Black Faced Impala as well :toast: :toast:

I may be wrong, but isn't that a Springbok between the two Oryx?

Definitely a springbok, not a black-faced impala, between the 2 oryx
