This wren has been hanging around our backyard lately here in Northwest Indiana. Its always nice when a bird is more focused on finding a mate than the big camera pointing right at it
No call was used.

Wrens are such fun little birds - amazing how wide they can get their beaks open. Nothing to criticize here

Very nice composition and I like the pose and lighting, Jason. The bird seems just a touch soft-you might want to do some sharpening of it. I'm not sure why the image would be soft, though some zooms don't like being at maximum and some lenses like to be stopped down a bit for maximum sharpness. I'm not familiar with your lens, so I can't guess if that's the problem-you can do a quick search to see if there are any reported issues with it, but sometimes it's the copy of the lens you get.

You got this guy in full song. I can almost hear him. Great pose on a neat perch. BG shows off the bird really well. My only nit is the softness of the image. Other than that this image is pure energy.

A lovely shot indeed and captured at the right moment with its beak open. I would be tempted to tone down the perch a little bit and as suggested by others sharpen the bird a tad more.

I like the open beak and the comp. I also think it seems a touch soft. I would certainly run it through another round of sharpening.

Thanks for the comments everyone!! I am looking into the softness of my images. It seems to be a common theme, but I'm not quite sure I know the solution. I will figure it out!! Thanks!!
