Spotted this dragonfly near a stream while visiting the Rhododendron Sanctuary in Pachaug State Forest this month. Could not positively identify him, or what he was dining on, by looking at web photos.
Canon Powershot SX700HS, fixed zoom lens at 995mm equivalent, HH, ISO 100, f/6.9, 1/100, center-weighted metering, adjusted levels in PSE. Comments and suggestions always welcome and thanks for viewing.

Nice close up of the dragon fly, but wish it was sharper. Maybe a higher shutter speed and ISO? Thanks for sharing.

Jim, thehead to tail sharpness on what looks to me like a Great Blue Skimmer (Libellula vibrans) looks good to me. I can count the hairs on the front of the thorax in the larger version. You've also done well controlling the contrast under what looks like challenging lighting. I do think that some burning in of that leaf, upper right, and the oof white stalk behind would help keep attention on the dragonfly.
