Trying to catch these guys in flight was difficult, but after a few tries finally got one in focus. Pangong Lake, Ladakh, India

Nikon D700 with 300mm lens (28-300 zoom), 1/1250 sec at f/11.

The Gull is in good focus and there is sufficient detail, although A large image would make it easier to tell. My sole nits are the parts of two other Gulls, which could easily be cloned out.

Good idea. I redid this using content aware to get rid of other bird parts and little different cropping.

Excellent detail Kathryn, and a good job on the exposure. A little work with the shadows/highlight tool (or non-photoshop equivalent) might bring out some more detail in the neck-it doesn't look overexposed and the focus is perfect, so the detail should be there. If you have any canvas available in front of the bird, I'd like to see a bit more room there.

Well done.
