Osprey Lunch

I found this Osprey along the Madison River in Yellowstone last September. He was eating a fish that he had just plucked from the river. I thought it was an unusual pose, as this guy was using his wings for balance as he tore the fish apart. I like the fact that you can see his eye, even though his head is partially hidden.

Processed using Photoshop CS3, NeatImage and LightZone. Comments and critiques welcome.

At first I wasn't sure about this one, but I looked at the larger image and could see his eye and now I like it a lot.

Hey Jerry,
This is a very good image, nice detail throughout, a sweet perch and complimentary BG. I am a big fan of an unusual pose that sets an image apart from the ordinary and this fits the bill nicely. I see this behavior quite often where an Osprey is using his wings for balance and/or leverage while dining on Sushi.
 Man !

I too like somewhat unconventional poses, especially when they tell a story. Well done indeed. It checks off my boxes.

An unconventional pose for sure but the bit of eye contact makes it work. I like the colors too. Well done

A very cool pose, Jerry and a nice composition. If you want to spend the time on it, I think you might be able to make this even better by getting rid of the two other branches coming in from the left-the mess with the nice lines of the image a bit.

I am all for stepping out of the box and doing something unconventional and applaud you for that Jerry. But this seems a little too disconnected for my tastes. I think if there was a bit more head turn and the branch on the left of the head wasn't so close, it would work better for me. But, that's just one guy's opinion.
