This May, I began prairie restoration out by my pond to provide habitat improvement for my native pollinators and honey bees. Black eyed Susan's are one of the first plants to bloom as they sprout and grow quickly as a colonizing species. I photographed this one as the sun was going down on a cloudy evening. K5 IIs, 300mm f4 DA* (1/80 sec at f8.0, ISO 400; Lightroom, exposure, highlights, saturation on yellow and orange, shadows, Zerene Stacker, 9 image stack Pmax,Cs5--Topaz Detail, High Pass filter for sharpening........................Jim

I like this off centre composition, Jim, with the flower beautifully set against the soft bg. The tiny fly is a neat bonus.

Jim - Nice composed (love that slight high angle) to show the top face of the flower so nicely !!.

Nice capture Jim. Very sharp and great background. I like the slight hint of more flowers behind. The hairs on the leaves and the fly add a lot of interest. Nicely done!

The diagonal line moves the flower and the colors are very well represented. The sharpness of the subject is enhanced by the softness of the BG. Excellent photo.
Take care.
