In the early seventies I had the opportunity to do several sailboat delivery trips for owners along the Gulf of Mexico and in the Atlantic. The owners would pay our plane fare and expenses. This was shot before one of the more memorable seven day trips from New York to Ft. Lauderdale in 1971. This ketch was at Minneford Yacht Yard in City Island. While there we had the privilege to see Intrepid up close and personal in storage, which won the America's Cup in 1967 and 1970, and built there at Minneford in 1967. I liked how everything was so tidy, even down to the helm that was centered.

Interesting point of view. IMHO could use a bit more brightening or contrast. Thanks for sharing.

I love wooden yachts - to look at, that is. We had a small all-mahogany sloop in the early seventies - Too much work, and it leaked. Though perhaps the owner of this beauty could afford to have somebody else maintain it. We never see these anymore, at least not around here. You've got a page of history.
