Thanks to all who commented on my first post! This pelican shot was from early spring in late evening light. I like the way the wing tips are curling. I always wonder if I have the whites close enough or not. Thanks, any comments are appreciated!

Nicely caught action, only suggestion would be to mask out a little of the sharpening on the black wing tips and trailing wing feathers to eliminate the white pixel "shadowing" or outlining that also show up on the feet and underside of the bill.

Sweet one, Steve. The whites look good to my eye. The wing position is excellent-I always like down stroke wings. Nice clear shot of the eye and he's in great breeding plumage. There is a bit of a white line under the darker parts of the image (bill, wings and feet). Sometimes that comes from sharpening.

Steve,
Nice wing down position with the feather tips curled, great light on the bill of this male, and i love the environment included here. The ice adds a lot to this image. Larger image shows good detail and sharpness and you handled the whites and the blacks perfectly. Nice job!!! :toast:

Hi Steve! I don't believe I've had the opportunity to welcome you to NPN, so welcome!

This image grabbed my attention from the thumbnail shortly after you posted it. I've viewed it on three different devices/screens and love it on all of them!

Excellent sharpness, details and other techs, wonderful wing position, and for me, absolutely perfect comp. The colours and background tones make this even more special IMO. I have no nits or suggestions to offer as I simply love this as presented. Beautiful.

Really nice image, especially as viewed in the larger size.. The whites look fine to me. I like this wing position and the frozen habitat.
