Water Please?

Waimea Canyon on Kauai has some beautiful vistas I drive by each time to work. This day was incredible with fast moving clouds. I was lucky to catch these rays streaming down into the valley and illuminating the falls as I drove by. What may look like haloing on right side of hill is actual light rays. The little lonely bush far above the water looked thirsty to me. I'll think of a more "serious" title should it ever go to print.
Two exposures for sky and land.

Lots of drama Daniel and I love the mood of it. I particularly like the tree at the top on the right. No suggestions.

What a spectacular moment you captured! There's a lot of dark space on the right but it does allow the nice little tree to be seen.

Whoah Daniel, just killer. Must have been awesome to witness! That tree in the URC adds even more to an already stellar scene! :toast:

The mood, subject, light rays and colors are all spot on. Powerful and pretty.

I’d crop the right side away to rid the comp of the dark space, even though the tree will be eliminated.
I think it made for a better balance and image overall.

Great job, Daniel. The light rays are well places, the falls looks great and that tortured tree, top right, is a neat addition.

WOW! Fantastic lighting conditions Daniel. Wonderful rays, dappled light, and an ominous sky. What more can one photographer ask for. Excellent!

I wish I had more time on Kauai for these exact scenes. Sunrays are icing on the cake. Love the processing as well, Daniel. Nice job!

Not much to add other than this is quite beautiful. The sun rays and the spot light on the falls really make this.

Thank you for the kind comments everyone. Wish I had more time off to chase this kind of light around my island home.

Really fabulous. I too think it's worth losing the tree to eliminate the empty space to the right and simplify the comp to just the light rays and waterfall.
