Albert - I might have used a diffuser in this situation (not sure you used or not). For this slightly top down angle, I might have put the center a bit more to the left or higher in the frame if it leaves the background on the sides.

But I like the color and pin sharp focus here :toast:

Beautiful dahlia subject, Albert. I like the light and the resulting vibrant colors, though it has produced a significant exposure range as noted by Ram. My suggestion would be to try burning the image center to expose the detail in the center. Besides the color, I really like the flowing lines. :toast:

Sultry look to this one, Albert. I like the design in the center and the way the petal edges take you right there. It still retains a glow and some softness, which are things I like to see-- a bit of an impressionistic feel. Beautifully done.

Albert, I love the photo as it is just for the reasons that you explained in your note.
Take care.

Albert, this is a fine gentle color explosion. (Yeah, I know, how can you have a gentle explosion. ) The centered comp emphasizes the symmetry of the color changes nicely and I like those two sharp edges coming from the bottom right. It would be interesting to see an off center comp., but I'm sure that would have a very different feeling.

Very dynamic composition, Albert ! I love the sweep of the petals out from the sparkling centre - a very striking image !!!
