Grackel Attitude

This is just a Common Grackle perched on a rock with the Mississippi river in BG. I caught him in good light and it shows off his iridescent colors well I think. Grackles always seem like they're up to no good.

Nice catch of the iridescence of the grackle!
You've lost a lot of detail in the darker areas - a program like Viveza, that many of us find essential, will help reclaim them. I think they still offer a free trial, if you're interested.

The iridescence you captured here is great Steve. I agree with Sandy that you have lost some detail in the blacks of the neck and could try to pull out a bit more there. Neat pose.

Hi Steve, my thoughts pretty much echo Sandy and Nate's. I do think you have the detail there in most of the black areas if you bring them up a bit in post processing.
