I had been thinking about shooting this old truck for a while. This morning is was raining one of those slow study rains and all the colors were saturated. I decided this was the morning to shoot the truck. I have several shots, some closer, some farther away and from different angles. Thanks for your comments and critiques.

Canon 7D
Sigma 120-400
Manual
Shutter 1/20
Aperture 5.6
ISO 800
159mm
Bean Bag on truck window
White Balance adjustment and slight vibrance and saturation adj. in Lightroom 4 along with sharpening.

I really like your comp here Richard, did you play around with a B&W conversion? To me this would make a wonderfully strong image in BW. :toast:

Great old truck! I like both versions, but prefer the color image.

In your B&W, the various red hues look too dark, and the greens look a tad flat. If you have a later version of Photoshop (I use CS6), create a B&W adjustment layer directly above the background layer. You can then adjust the tones in the reds and greens by moving the sliders to taste. Next, if desired, create a curves layer to fine tune the contrast.

I think that with some additional work, the B&W would look very cool.

Nice truck image. Like to shoot this in HDR. I like the dark woods behind the cab. Trucks like this one get bought in Texas as soon as their found. Your lucky! For a 7D you must have been back a distance to get this good framing. Nice patina on truck as well. Try a close up with a 17-40 or 10-22 from lower POV if you can. A B&W could be interesting too when the foliage is all gone this fall.

Hey Richard,
I like the color version best, you made an excellent choice to shoot the truck in the rain, the element of wetness really makes the colors pop and gives the image a fresh appearance.
Congratulations on the WP . . . :toast:
