On my last post, I mentioned the difficulty finding unique compositions.

This is a similar comp to many of mine which include my favorite fern.

100 mm Zeiss, polarizer, Nikon d800e. F18, and 1/3 sec

EDIT: To those who enjoy these… that’s great. Thanks for the comments. Sometimes I feel I have fallen off the 'creativity wagon’ into the ditch…aka the ‘rut’.

Hi Ken

This may look similar to your previous composition but it is still a riveting image to look at. I like the 'different element' amongst the similar background. In the larger image, I find the luminosity of the central white fronds competing with the red flowers. If you have Viveza, it would be an easily tweak to increase the luminosity of the flowers and dim the lower center portion slightly to bring back a bit of balance.

Beautiful, Ken. I like this as well if not better than your 2013 EP image featuring what I assume is this same fern. :toast:

The large version is great to just let the eye roam around the image. Very nice.

I think this is gorgeously chaotic. I like the dynamic tension between the different frond colors, magenta flowers and orange and green leaf colors. Even the purple veins of the fronds are a piquant addition. No nits and congrats! :toast:

Ken - Unique or not, this is so beautiful. We are sometimes prisoners to our biases and mindsets that prevents us from looking or seeing other compositions.

Love this shot and your fern shots are a big time favourites for me.

When you have a fern like that to play with, it's no rut. It's working the possibilities. And work it you do! Another beauty!

Congrats on the WP!
