Red-capped Robin

These small flycatchers inhabit woodlands of arid and semi-arid Australia.
The parasitic Dodder Vine had killed a small tree and this little twig was the only perch emerging from the tangle of vine.

Gorgeous as always, Rob. I like the added detail of the small green vine on the branch.

Absolutely beautiful image, Rob. The color and detail, exquisite. Pose, perch and background also very nice. Yeah, I like it a lot. Chet

Very nice image. The bird is great, but what really makes this more than a bird image is the perch with the vine. Nicely captured.

Beautifully composed and exposed. The twining vines make a fairly ordinary perch into something quite interesting.

What a little beauty, Rob. I know it's been said, but those twisted vines add a lot to the overall image.

Well, I'm done with even trying to express the wow-factor reaction I get on almost every one of your images, Rob, but suffice it to say this one's right up there with the best of the rest. The perch with the vine is insane and the subject is off the charts cool. Perfect techs, perfect processing, A++ image.

I agree with Max completely. I wish I could capture detail like this. You have caught detail in the black as well as the bright red areas. Lovely all around.

Gorgeous image Rob. Love the colorful Robin (much prettier than the Robins we have here) and the perch with the vine is awesome!. Nice work.

Rob,
Incredible image. The background perfectly enhances the gorgeous bird and very nice perch. You could not ask for a better image than this. Superb in every way. Great job on both the whites and the blacks. :toast: :toast:

Gorgeous! This has to be one of the cutest birds around. Superb detail in the image, especially when viewing the larger photo you provided. I agree with Max that the green vine adds a nice touch to the image. It'd be hard not to spot these guys considering how bright the red is on him!
