Taken 42 years ago on my first journey through the southwest in my 1964 Volkswagen Bus ala Arlo Guthrie~ with tie died curtains and a home on the road.
I started shooting professionally in 1971 and this was my first trip to White Sands National Park.
Bronica SQ
Nikkor 135 mm lens
settings are history to me

Rick, I love the short story on this image. Don't recall listening to too much of Arlo back then myself, but I did enjoy the heck out of his "City of New Orleans" song. I guess back then in 64 even his dad Woody was still around maybe?

Anyway, this is a neat take and I'm sure a treasure for yourself from that trip back then. In 64 I was still in H.S. working every off hour to pay for my 64 Malibu SS. Thanks for sharing the image and story, very cool stuff......

Rick, this is an awesome b&w rendition. It feels very "other worldly" with your high contrast, repeated shapes and the many light/dark transitions from bottom to top.

Arlo had a vw bus in the movie ~Alice's Restaurant~ akin to the one I traveled on my first photo journey. The life of a vagabond hippie and those were the days. Trix and 2 1/4 format and lots of darkroom time. This is not the best scan but wanted to share my oldies.

Rick, very nice tones, light and comp. I remember 1964 very well, the year I got drafted

Dramatic!
I like how the scalloping in to dunes is echoed in the clouds.

I can spend a lot of time looking at this one Rick. Very nice graphic quality - perfectly suited for B&W. Tones, textures, lines, shapes... It is quite dramatic, with so much to see. Thanks for sharing, this one is really cool
