Royal Rays

Unfortunately, I missed the recent party of NPNers at the North Rim. I was there the week before, however, and was happy to get some very nice light and clouds one evening at Cape Royal. For this image I blended 2 exposures for the sky with another for the terrain. Your thoughts?

Very cool, Jared. I really like the intense feel of this shot, I was there this past weekend and am overwhelmed by the scale of the canyon. It is had to really portray the scope of the place. I appreciate what you have done here. Bravo :toast:

Beautiful scene, image and presentation. The blend looks perfect to me. No suggestions.

We must have been there at about the same time.

Beautiful light through the scene and a wonderful comp Jared. And I really like the sky in this also. A great job of controlling the DR in the scene and great processing. Another wonderful image. :toast:

Sweet light and the processing looks perfect, Jared. You can not go wrong with those rays and they compliment the drama in the sky beautifully.

Love the depth here Jared, the comp you chose with that diagonal view looking down the canyon to those distant sun rays leads my eye right through the scene. The blend looks great as well. If I had one tiny nit it would be for that butte on the left to be above the horizon line instead of being even with it. Not a deal breaker by any means, and I'm guessing it might not have been possible. Excellent scene with great processing!

Lovely light and view here, Jared! The light on the wall coming in from the left makes a great leading line. The blending looks fine.

Jared, one of the best views in the Canyon and well captured and blended. My nits would be that the sky in the lower center looks a little grey-browned (needs to be more blue, imo), and maybe darken the sunlit ridge on the far left edge
