This happened to be the same calf, who loved to stay in touch with mother, always!
Canon 5D III; 400mm IS2; 2x converter; ISO 320; 1/250 sec at F 7.1.
Thank you so much for your kind attention & views!

This is a stunning photo, especially when viewed large. There's nothing in the foreground or background that's distracting. Scale is achieved by the presence of the calf. The calf's position, in addition to providing scale, shows the close bond between the mother and calf. The textures and tonalities brought out in processing are excellent. Great job. Richard

Excellent image--No nits here. I like elephant photos, I find them to be quite photogenic :wavey: .........................Jim

Hi Jagdeep,

I like this one a lot. Great textures, love the light, and the positioning of the calf is just excellent. While always nice to see the full colour version for comparison whenever a B&W (or a sepia-toning like this) conversion is made, I definitely do like the sepia-tone here.

Cheers...

Good work. I have not nits, but I do wonder if you caught one where the youngster had trunk extended to mirror the mother?

Hi Brad!
Here's the colour version for you!
Lon, this was shot near that place, after they came out of water, after about half an hour.

Hi Jagdeep,

I think the prefer the colour presentation for ONLINE presentation, but as a print I'd definitely go for the sepia-tone...

Cheers...

Very effective use of monochrome, and a sweet intimate moment well captured. I might give Mom a little more space on the right to look into.
