The hot springs at Mammoth in Yellowstone are constantly changing, which is one reason why I never get tired of visiting. Here's a view of Canary Spring as it flows rapidly down the side of the ridge. (5D3, 70-200 f2.8 + 1.4TE @ 225mm, 1/250, f/10, iso 200, tripod)

This is so appealing to the artistic eye! I love the warm variety of golden tones, and the movement that the lines create throughout. Beautiful Mark!

Quite nice Mark, beautiful color and flowing lines, different to say the least in a very good way. Beautifully done.

I was just there also. Mammoth has a great variety photographic opportunities. The colors and the flow of the lines are well seen and composed. If I had any nits it would be that the dark area in the urc is just a bit distracting.

Mark: Wonderful scene and I can see how one would never tire of visiting. I can also see a frame filling comp with a crop in from the URC which would make a nice abstract. I like that even here the scale is pretty mysterious. Terrific shot.>=))>

Mark, although I recall many of your shots from this site, they do all seem to have a different look to them. So, a credit to your ability to see things with a new look and or angle on the location as well as you've mentioned here the site is constantly under change too.
I would have to say with that all stated this is a new view for me from your site collection here. I definitely like the diagonal flow or look to the scene. I do wonder if a bit more inclusion on the right would have made a better taper there. Typically, I never speculate on compositions because it's an item one cannot second guess on unless we're there. Not a nit at all just thinking out loud.
Love the color of this wonderful formation. Another very fine take from this site.......

Wonderful "almost abstract" :toast: I, especially, like the water pooled and reflected on the flat tops going all the way down the left side in contrast to the ones going down the right side. :jump:

I like this a lot, Mark! It is almost abstract. I love the color and the various textures. At first, I wasn't sure about the darker area on the right, but after looking at this for a while, it adds to the depth of the image. Nice job!

This is so cool; especially the large version. The lines, shapes, textures along with the earth tones make this a visual treat, Mark.

I was not sure about this image while examining the smaller version. The larger version answered a few of my concerns and is a must see. There are hidden reflections which are revealed in the larger version. The dark upper right seems out of place to me, but I can see how it might balance itself out with the darker areas in the lower left. I like the 2 flat-topped pillars and the color of the flow in between. Well done :toast: .....................Jim

Those melon and white stripes are wonderful, as are the pedestal pools. I am thinking a vertical comp of the right 40% might be a possibility also.

I so much enjoy Yellowstone's thermal springs and Mammoth is one of my favorites, too. Great color and texture in this image and an interesting and pleasing composition.
