September 18, 2014 While in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park in California, I was waiting for Charlie Van Tassel to arrive so I could observe him photographing Bats. A family of about 15 California Quail wandered up to the small pond and began to drink. This fellow kept an eye on me while they did.

Nikon D4 Nikkor 600mm ISO1250 1/1250 f/7.1 White Balance Auto Processed in Lightroom, PSCC14, NIK and TK. Slightly cropped.

Comments welcome and appreciated. :toast:

Patrick, I love the subtle colour hue in the bird and background. Great detail and nice catch light in the eye. :toast:
