Scrapping Oryx + Repost

This looks weird in terms of colour as a result of the scrap taking place just after a ferocious dust storm, taken at the strangely named Ozonjuitjo m'Bari waterhole on the border to Western Etosha, This remote waterhole usually teems with Zebra, Springbok and Oryx, we did see a Lion there once.

I like the action captured Ken. The color in the sky does not bother me at all but I personally would have gone tighter or cropped it a bit :toast:

If you have the pixels to make it tighter, I think it would make it more intense.

Great action with all that flying dust. Agree about tighter crop.
I feel if you selectively unsharpen the sharp foreground, it would help the image.

Awesome action you captured here Ken  The tighter crop better illustrates the intensity of the fight.

This is an excellent capture of the action. The tighter framing in the repost, really intensifies the action. Will trade you 10 of mine where the oryx is either standing there looking at me or is running away for this one. Richard

Hey Ken,

I prefer the re-post, but think it would be even better if the amount of space behind each of the subjects was balanced more - the asymmetry of the body positions (one fully out-stretched vs. the other "hunched-up") will still leave the perceived focal point slightly off-centre. But that's a personal preference issue...

Love the action, Ken. Great timing and probably an uncommon scene to witness through the viewfinder. I feel the sky, even if this is as it appeared, translates as too dark (color, to me, a non issue...) and it keeps pulling my attention away from the fight. I would lighten it a touch. Regarding comp, I agree with others that tighter is more pleasing and I agree with Brad's suggestion to keep some space on the right. All that said, excellent post.

I like the repost better, but agree with Brad about balancing the space. Either way, awesome action capture.
