River Crossing

I saw this young bison on a hill above the Yellowstone River in Yellowstone's Hayden Valley. He came down the hill, but had to swim the river in order to join the rest of the herd. I watched him swim the river, and then shake off the water. This shot was taken just after he shook off the water. I liked the late afternoon light.

Processed using Photoshop CS3, NeatImage and LightZone. Comments and critiques welcome.

Jerry,
The light in this shot is very nice, I think that a slightly closer crop eliminating the grasses at the bottom would improve this plus perhaps a tad more contrast

Hi Jerry,

I like the colour of the water here - and how it complements the colour of the bison. I tend to agree with Ken on the need for perhaps a tad more contrast, at least on the bison. Based on reflection position vs. the source (using the front of the head) I think about a 2 degree CCW rotation is needed here to level the shot.

Cheers...

Brad/Ken,

Incorporated your suggestions. I think they improved the image. What do you think?
