The sun's first light sets the fall Cottonwoods aglow at the confluence of the Lamar River and Soda Butte Creek, in Yellowstone National Park. (5D3, 24-70 f2.8 @ 43mm, 1/100s, f/10, iso 200, tripod and polarizer)

This is really nice Mark. Beautiful light and a strong composition for my tastes. I hope to see it in the next couple of days. No suggestions.

Same place but very different photos. In this one, I especially like the back-lit cottonwoods showing their trunks and branches.

Love the feel you captured here. Even with the extremely low angle of the Sun the light is quite intense and really sets the cottonwoods a blaze. Very nice! :toast:

Mark, I really like this one. This works better for me over the WC posted one mainly for the composition. I think the confluence meeting in the LRHC with a bit of diagonal and almost arrow pointing look there. The addition of the side lighting sets the fall theme up nicely with the leaves and ground brush in total highlight. Very nice one.

I like this photo, Mark. It's simple but has a lot of elements that give me a good feeling that you've taken me to this place with your image.

Very nice, Mark. I love the side light and the color of the trees. The two rivers add nice lines. Works for me!

Nice. You found some really nice light in a place that maybe doesn't get photographed a lot. This feels new and refreshing.

Really beautiful, Mark. I have fished this spot many times , before photography came into my life. I love the low angle of the sun. It really set those trees off. I also like the braids of the Lamar with it's shimmering blue. Makes me long for the North Country.

The side lighting really sets those trees on fire Mark. I like the long shadows as well.

Beautiful lights and excellent composition, it's like that the streams are coming from between the mountains. I like it a lot. Bravo!

The flow and light work really well here, Mark! I Could see a slight drawdown of highlights in the sky, perhaps. But this is really nice as it is.

wonderful light and composition. If you crop a little at the top and bottom this will look even better IMO

The backlit cottonwoods and grass really glow. I like the golden point formed by the shadowed bank and the continuation of the angle by the triangular gravel bar in the lower right.
