Backgrounds with some character now possible with FX format. Two Asters (I moved one closer and aligned the center for managing DOF) photographed this morning.

LARGE VERSION <--- Link to Large Version.

ND810, AFS105mm F/2.8 Micronikkor, F/5.6, 1/500 Sec, ISO200, Tripod and Diffuser.

Thanks a lot for your comments on Dahlia and let me know what you think of this one.

I really love that movement in the BG Ram. The colors and point of focus are excellent. I really like the way that you were able to line up the centers.

What do you mean by: "Backgrounds with some character now possible with FX format."?

Nathan

[Ram] --> for the same view in DX, this is a much smaller magnification because the sensor is smaller. That means for the same view DX will give more Depth of Field and that messes up the background.

I like the artsy feel of the two flowers and and the color palette, Ram. The bokeh also adds interesting lines to the image. :toast:

I can't recall an image that ever captured a sense of motion like this one does. Looks like two flowers dancing, with others on the dance floor behind them. Outstanding work, or, rather, art, Ram. :toast:

Hi Ram :wavey: I told you FX is another world  Especially getting better BG's, with less DOF.........Shooting at f/5.6 makes the BG look so beautiful in this image.. agree with Scott about the feeling of looking at dancers.. delightful and creative work :toast:

Ram: Great decisions and execution. I do sometimes long for the shallower DOF of a full frame sensor. 2 thumbs up. >=))>
