Practice

I was out early today and found this pair of black-tails practicing their moves. Not a real battle as the bigger one could have easily beaten the younger one. But they pushed and shoved each other and the larger one definitely had the superior position here. But this was of value to both of them as the rut is progressing and they'll be chasing does soon. Lighting was not the best but did provide sufficient light to get the photo. In Lightroom I warmed it slightly, added 0.25 stops of exposure, some contrast, saturation, and clarity while reducing the highlights just a bit. Cropped slightly to focus more on the 2 bucks. Your comments and critiques are welcomed and appreciated.

Nice catch of the action between the two, but just wish there was not so much OOF vegetation in the way. The larger image looks good. Thanks for sharing.

Good look at the head butting action Peter.
Great job pulling the shot off in this low-light, well done :toast:

Too bad for the tree on the left. Still, a fine documentary capture of this action.
