I managed a few snaps when this species came near our pond on Wednesday, this is the best of three. Very minor crop, near full frame.
F/7.1, 1/400th, ISO 640, 1D M3, 300mm f/2.8 + 1.4x ext around 9:00am & overcast.

Difficult to get this species out in the open Howard, nice and sharp from tip to tail, wish for a bit more of a headturn but it sounds likehe didn't stick around. :toast:

A nice alert bird, Howard. Not too many BT photos as I recall as they are a bit reclusive. Wonderful detail (although I wish the tip of the tail had been in focus too). Nicely defocused BG helps set the bird off. Nice rich colors. An eastern bird that I miss.

Great details in Thrasher. The background colors compliment the browns in the bird very well.

Very nice as posted. Not an easy subject to get in the open.
