This was shot on the way back down the Inner Basin Trail near Flagstaff, AZ. I did the hike with Andrew Waddington and he was very patient putting up with my slow progress up the steep 9000ft elev. trail.Doug Koepsel dropped in for a visit the evening before too.
Nikon D7100, Nikon 17-55 2.8, 1/20 sec @ f/16.

I should have stuck around, fresh coffee is my worst vice it's been responsible for many a missed photo opportunity.

The backlit aspens and the shadows make for quite a dramatic scene!

Ridiculous! I am distracted by the tree trunks not being white. Lots of the color of the warm sun in this. I like the lengthy shadows in the foreground. Looks like it was a grand hike.

I like the way the shadows take the viewer into the scene. I've been in "yellow" aspen rooms similar to this but have never seen the effect quite this pronounced and that the white trunks may be a bit over-yellowed. Other than that a nice image though.

Hi Bob, I like the colors and verticals in this image. Together with the walking trail it results in a very serene image I think....Very nice image and well done

I'm just killing time waiting for you to fly in Bob and I thought I'd check out NPN, yet again this image sprang to my attention. It's one of the nicest ones on here in recent weeks.
