Shot this skipper earlier this summer. Black eyed susan perch; coneflowers in the bg. I would have preferred more subject dof, but this was a moving subject shot in a tight space, and this seemed to be the best compromise of subject dof vs bg. Is it sufficient? Also, what do you think about cloning out the small bud on the left? D600, 150 macro, f6.3, iso 500, hh at 1/1250. Cropped 15% from orig. Thanks for looking. Comments, suggestions, and questions welcome. :wavey:

It works fine for me Scott. As long as the head/eyes are sharp it flies.. or flutters in this case
Love the BG, great comp :toast:

The compromise worked very well, Scott! The eyes are sharp and the bg is beautiful. Regarding cloning out the bud, I think it would improve the image, but it's still very nice as is.

Wish to see more sharpness on the head/eyes. The background is gorgeous, but I agree with cloning out the bud on the left. Overall, it is beautiful capture Scott ! :toast:

Scott, this compromise works for me. The background and color palette are beautiful. I will keep the small bud if it were mine.
