This is a composite, not sure if it works or not. I shot the egret and wetland in two different locations. Comments welcome.

I like this a lot Lucy ! Even if the bird is at the center of the frame, it somehow works beautifully. It really shows your artistic creativity and imagination. :toast:

Hi Lucy: I like your image. Since it is a digital composite, I'm going to move it over to the Photo Art Gallery.

This is really neat Lucy. I find myself wishing the egret was a little more off-centre (to the left) - but both images are good and they pair really well - likely helped by your decision to go B&W - very effective and well done :toast:

Thank you for the kind comments. I spent a lot of time trying to decide the scale, angle, and location of the bird. It seems to work in a few different ways, but I'm leaning toward Karen's comment about moving the bird just slightly to the left. Thank you so much.

This is an awesome piece of photo art. My only nit is I wish the bg was as abstract as the fore and midgrounds but the subject looks good sharp. However it works well as presented. I would keep the bird centered after all this is photo art and standards including the rules of composition don't necessarily apply. :toast:

Bruce, thank you for the comment and excellent suggestion. I'm going to play with blurring the bgd & forgrd a bit, not too hard since it's on another layer.
