Shasta in The Clouds + Repost

This was shot in May of this year, and I believe this was the final snowfall before summer. It looked impressive, but I was told this snow melted in just a few days, leaving a mostly snowless mountain. It was so warm and snowfall so light, that a glacier slipped and caused a major mudslide a month or two ago. Apparently the McCloud river still looks like mud.

D300, 80-200 2.8 @ 200, 1/160, f11, ISO 100.

C & C very much appreciated.

Nice image of Mt. Shasta, Jim. I like the mystery of what's above the cloud deck. There are a couple of areas that are quite blue: One is above the forest below a dark crag, and the other is in the lower left corner. Otherwise the color looks nice.

Thanks Preston. I had seen those areas and reduced the blue somewhat. You have answered my question of whether there was still too much!

Here is a corrected version, hopefully with blues adequately tamed. Also, brightened it up a bit.

Beautiful pano Jim. I like the matching diagonals in the composition. No suggestions on my part. There doesn't appear to be enough blue to me in the repost, so I suspect it's correct. (smile)

Jim, This is a very nice shot and I like the conditions you caught. I think you went a bit much with the corrections in the repost however. Maybe backing the blue off just a little from the original post is all it needs. I don't think I would brighten it any at all. A cool shot that I quite enjoy.

Jim, I like the similar shapes from the trees lines and the mountain and the hidden top for a touch of mystery. I think the repost looks good.

I'd agree that somewhere between the two postings might work best and no need to brighten those areas any more.

A compromise between the first post and the 2nd, as Nick has suggested would be perfect! I like the atmosphere presented, and the diagonals are well seen and captured.

A very nice scene with very nice clouds on the mountain and light through the scene. The original looks good to me, maybe just a touch less blue but not much. Well done.
