The Maine Ingredient

I went back to Maine after an 8-year absence this weekend to get a better shot of the Kennebec river than I had. That didn't work out, so Sunday afternoon, I went chasing after anything that looked good. I ran across this grove near Mt. Blue State Park and gave it some exposures. My stitching shots proved disastrous, and I didn't have time to set up the 8x10, but I got this with a single frame.

Nice fall scene. I think it is well composed and has a very nice feeling to it.

Strong comp Michael and I've never been able to get one of these I like. I like the low contrast approach to this and the beautiful balance of colors. Love the mood and the image. I'd just like to see it at a resolution that's fair to the 800. Beautiful work for my tastes. No suggestions.

This takes advantage of the soft light to really let the colors shine. The tree trunks add some fine textural contrast and they are spread nicely throughout the image. This has a beautiful gentle, inviting feeling.

Michael, this is definitely yours and you master this kind of scenes in an extraordinary way to my eye. I especially appreciate your careful treatment of colors here and the sensitive use of layers.

THis makes me fell like I am standing amidst the trees and marveling at the color. Love it!

Very painterly and a wonderful mood to this Michael. Really like the soft colors in this and the comp is very nicely down. Great shot. :toast:

Very pretty michael. The more I look and explore the more attractive this becomes. Large view is great.

You gotta open up the large version to appreciate this sweet shot! This expertly framed Michael, and the vertical trees play beautifully with the beautiful autumn foliage.

It's not easy to take photos in the "caos" of the woods.
In this case I think you have been able to "put everything in the right place": very good composition.
Very good balance of colors too.
I also like the soft light and the "grey" mist (?) that highlights the colors in the fore ground.
Well done!
