Gonars Elephant
by Ken Watkins
Gonarezhou National Park in Zimbabwe is not a place where many people visit, largely because it is difficult to get to.
It is also not exactly teeming with Wildlife, but it is wonderfully scenic. It is also undergoing tremendous rehabilitation under the auspices of Frankfurt Zoological Society given another 10 years and it will be on everyone's must visit list.
The Elephants there are supposedly dangerous but we have never seen really bad behaviour. The road system is very limited so you mainly need to walk to get close to animals, most run away but the Elephants do not.
The dark patch on the leg is spilled water.
