Another Light Painting

This is another still life that I had a chance to light paint. Very simple tools. Just a still life and a small pen light. Lots of fun trying to make and image in the dark. Thanks for your comments and critiques

Addicting isn't it? I once cracked a beer, poured it into a mug and didn't get a chance to drink any for quite awhile as I played with the can and mug in the dark.

I like the scene you've put together here. The reflective metal is definitely a challenge vs the wood and netting. I'd try to get rid of the shadows on the face of the reel. And it looks like there is a bit of magenta cast on the brighter areas of the handle, rod and some netting to adjust.

Makes me want to bust out a flashlight!

I think I prefer this to the last one Richard. The color seems more natural to me and I like the dappling of light in it. Nice image. No suggestions on my part.

Cool still-life. The blue is a bit jarring and I would prefer the spotlight to maybe be on the flies and not the reel... but that's an easy thing to experiment with

Richard,

This is very nice still life. I do agree with Jeff's comments, though. Well done!

Congrads on working on your light painting projects. As a avid fly fishing person, I love the theme.

A few comments here: (1) Maybe a light more light in the upper left-hand corner? (2) I like it that that the reel is highlighted and maybe a little less light on the line? (3) Maybe a little more brightness on the streamer flies? I think such considerations would take place in post processing, not sure.

Thanks for sharing your shots.
