Hi Jim
This is lovely. Quite an elderly camera you have but the quality is really stunningly good almost film like. I am enjoying the choice you have made of shutter speed too, the water in the river looks great.

This is a very pleasant scene, Jim. I like your composition and your natural color choices. Good work.. Chet

This is a very beautiful scene, Jim. The fall color and the winding creek make this very inviting. My only suggestion; and this is just a personal preference; would be to crop the aspen on the left side of the image. either way this is nicely done.

Thanks for your comments folks. Ed, I was thinking the same thing about that aspen on the left. Ian, yes the D300 is becoming quite elderly (well put!). I think if there is anything, "stunningly good almost film like", it is due to that 12-24 Tokina - a great lens.

Lots of fine fall color here, Jim. The stream and path do a good job of leading into the distance.

A very peaceful fall scene with nice colors and a nice comp also. I might crop the left hand tree as it distracts a bit but very nice as is. Well done.

Nice take on one my favorite haunts in the Sierra. I'm unsure about the crop suggestion since doing so would leave some distracting bits along the left edge. That said, it might be worth trying just to take a look-see. The color and tones look good to me.

Very pleasant scenery, Jim. I like the diagonal river running through the image and the different elements. I too would either like to see more of the cut off tree on the left or take it out altogether. Also, I think this is one image where a slower shutter to blur the water will help.
