Sloth Bear

I have very little chance to take images of Bears (we have none in Africa), this is one of the two species I have ever seen and is a resident of India.
This was the original Indian Dancing Bear subject to extreme cruelty, now it is protected and this sanctuary gives them a happy time.
Taken in Daroji Sanctuary, a place all bear lovers should visit.

Nice action image of this bear. Also like that you were able to get the chest markings standing out well. Good that there is a home for these bears. Thanks for sharing.

Cracking shot Ken, love the striding pose and wild hair do, cool setting too. You must have been close at 115mm :toast:

Hey! Don't muscle into my territory! :jump: But, beautiful image, Ken. Great fur details, and I quite like the sense of purposeful motion that you have captured in the bear.

Thanks everybody.
Firstly it was thanks to Ajit's images that I discovered this wonderful place
Secondly it was thanks to Oliver of Gulo Films that I was able to be so close, I sat in his car!
The documentary they made "Jungle Book Bear", is remarkable in its original cut, but very bad in the National Geographic hacked to death version.I cannot find it on DVD
Much like the edited version of his and others of Wild Russia, the greatest wildlife documentary of the last 20 years, except perhaps "Snake Killers", made by people who live in my village.
