Great look at this bulbul in its habitat, Ken. You have some beautiful light and a very complementary head turn. I really like the olors in this image. Looks like you caught it during nesting season. :toast:

Pleasing combination of subject and background. I always appreciate good looks at a new species, and this is one I haven't seen before. The crest and facial coloration are much more interesting than the bulbuls in southern Africa.

Great look at this bird - love the crest. I might try a different crop to eliminate the oof leafs on the left -- just to see what that might look like

Thanks every body for your comments, I tried a vertical crop but it just did not seem to work

fine capture Ken, with a nice head turn.
On my monitor it looks a wee bit over exposed but as no-one else has mentioned it it may just be me.

Another sweet shot Ken! I like your crop and the detail in the bird is great. The raised crest adds a lot for me. Is that a piece of grass in it's beak? Nice capture! :toast:

Wonderful bird and exposure in challenging light. The hair or whatever on the bird's bill is a bit of a distraction and doesn't seem to add anything; take it out, maybe?

Good to know I'm not the only one who sometimes fails to pay attention to the settings...

Oh, wow, great species ! I like bulbuls and have seen some 5 or 6 different ones, but never this one. Nice and natural surroundings and a nice head turn as well - all make for a great shot (the light was not helping you, but not a real showstopper for me) :toast: , hans
