Alder Grove

Locals told me these are Alders so if I'm wrong please let me know. A dry summer has caused leaves to be dried out rather than a lot of color. But I found this spot and liked how the light was hitting the scene. No alders around here so these had to do.

Very nice color and textures, Bill. The trunks look to alder, but without seeing a leaf, it's tough to tell. I really like the light. Nice job!

This is amazing, Bill. This has a wonderful depth to it and the overcast lighting is perfect for bringing out all the details and textures in this woodland scene. Wonderful image.

The lighting is terrific, Bill, and those trunks are positioned perfectly for leading my eyes into the image. Truly beautiful!

Way white bark compared to the alders around here! Beautiful composition and lovely colors. Well done.

Bill, fantastic! I do find it a tad over sharp in the BG area. I would suspect you added a sharpen filter to the whole scene. Maybe a selective approach to the white trees only would give more to this image. It would add separation to your subject and look a little more as we would see it naturally. (Things at distance are not as clear). :toast:

The three colour combo in this is quite striking Bill, excellent depth to the shot and lovely frame filling comp.

Wow, that's a gorgeous scene. The green understory, combined with the solid yellow background make a perfect setting for the white tree bark. Your comp, with the FG trees framing the others is beautiful, too.

Not that familiar with western trees, but if the twigs and small stems of these are very reddish, I think red alder is a good guess.
