Wasatch Illuminated (+)

I haven't been able to get out much yet this fall, but came away with this image from a nice family hike a couple weeks ago in the Wasatch mountains not far from my home. This is a 2-exposure blend (main exposure f/22, 1/13 sec, 24mm, ISO 100), with adjustments mostly using luminosity masks and selective dodging/burning. Nit-picking encouraged.

I think that you have been able to blend the exposures very well and the final result is a delicious and natural light, able to put on fire the foliage, well placed in an interesting diagonal.
I like it, nice work!

This is gorgeous Jared. Love the sunburst and I particularly like the white aspen trunks. I might bring the light up a touch in the fg but my Macbook with retina tends to show things darker than other monitors, so see if anyone else comments. The light here is just spectacular. I like the image very much.

Jared, This looks great to me. It has that feel of being right there at this moment. Wonderful light and very inviting. I'm no blend expert but it looks like a very good job to me and very natural too. In the large version the foreground also looks very good to me. I like it a lot!

Great light in this Jared especially on the trees and really like the hazy light in the back round. Minor nit would be to darken the BR a touch as it pulls my eyes. But very minor. A beautiful image with great processing.

Dynamic image! I might offer a slight crop off the left so that the bright patch of of distant aspen are closer to the boarder - to the 1st notch in the background ridge. Not sure exactly why, but this tightens up the shot a little more for me. From a processing standpoint, the areas of clouds closer to the sun seem a little artificially oversaturated with yellow. Try desat them and it may appear a bit more natural. Otherwise great job on the blend.

Looking for a nit, looking for a nit, not finding much... okay, I might consider cloning out that one long bright blade of grass in the LR, it's a bit distracting. Is that nit-picky enough? Great shot and processing of a beautiful spot. :toast:

Thanks for the comments and feedback so far. Here's a version with less yellow saturation in the clouds and a couple distracting grass shoots cloned out.

The repost works better for me Jared. Love the light you have captured here.

I'm leaning toward the repost by a whisker. I didn't mind the grass in the LRC, and I really don't have any nits of this fine image. I hope your family hike was nice!
