Two young Bull Elephants engage in some playtime at sunset before heading on to mainland to spend the night. Image taken at Elephant Bay in Chobe National Park in Botswana during the photographic safari I led earlier this year.

EOS 1Dx - EF200-400mm f4.0L IS USM - 560mm - 1/800sec @ f6.3 - ISO 3200

Mario, I like your comp here and the background too. If it were mine I might see If I could pull a little more detail out of the shadow areas on the bulls. Great detail though. :toast:

HI Mario,

I find this image very striking and powerful - well done. I can see where some might want those overlapping trees in the background gone, but to me they add a little more context and don't distract at all. I personally like the "darkness" of this image and feel there is sufficient shadow detail as posted (Gary - not trying to be disagreeable...but I'm a lover of contrast and I LIKE dark-darks in an image! ).

Thanks for sharing this beauty!

Cheers...

Brad

The image is very strongly placed in the frame with some nice pastel orange shades! I too like Gary, would like to see some more details in the darks.

Great typical Chobe boisterous elephant action, and the sweet dusk light makes it even more special!

A wonderful photograph Mario. I really like the pastel color and the excellent details still visible in the elephants.

I like the behavior and the overall feel of the image...I am going back and forth about the shadow detail. I would have to see them side by side....I think I would like to see a bit more detail as long as it doesn't take away from the sunset feel and make it look unnaturally lit.
