Winding Down

Hi all.

My dahlia opportunities are winding down. I took this shot in our yard about a week ago. Interestingly enough, this dahlia is on the same plant as the lighter blooms with the dark petal outlines that I have posted a few of (my last weekly pick).

I love how the blooms start with so much color and then go lighter and lighter until it is almost white with the dark petal outlines.

The white BG is our white vinyl fence.

Any and all thoughts appreciated.

Wonderful image Nathan. The high key bg is perfect for the flower and your processing makes this look like a water color which also suits the flower very well. Superb image. Nothing I'd change.

Excellent high key and graphic treatment, Nathan, with a very appealing composition. Don't think this approach could be done better, though I do like your more naturalistic renderings better still.
