A Texas Halloween tradition
Remington 870 12 ga shotgun using a hi-velocity hollow point slug at close range - 12-15'. I used my youngest son as the assistant, he got a blast out of it:biggrin:
F/8, 1/8000th, ISO 640, 1D M3, 300mm f/2.8 @ 9:48am, clear & sunny this morning. Home grown pumpkin, added some water for effect..
HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Timing is everything Howard . . .
Were you releasing two triggers at once ?
Great title, outstanding action and sweet lighting.
You guys in Texas have way to much fun . . . :toast:

Just a single shot pump Mike. The Winchester HP slug is moving at 1600fps, and very explosive all by itself.
A double barrel would be over kill me thinks :toast:

Hey Howard,
"What we have here is a failure to communicate"
I was referring to the two triggers, one of the shotgun and one of the camera.
I am loving those eye brows on the pumpkin . . .

Howard, WOW, remind me not to drive through Texas in ANY type of Halloween garb......

Kind of reminds me of those old test shots we use to see all the time with stop action and a high velocity rifle bullet. Even with the slug shot it splatters almost like a bird shot maybe hit it. This is truly excellent for pulling this idea off. I guess to make a better point is the actual image outcome and being able to actually know what I'm seeing without reading the comment. A really neat image IMO.....

If I say, "Cool shot!", is that being redundant? I too am curious about how you triggered your camera at just the right moment for this excellent capture.
