Amazing how something so simple can still be so engaging. I might have tried to move the rock more into the frame, but that may have required a crane.

Appropriate title, Preston. The intricate complexity of the grass is subtle only because we are used to looking for shapes on a larger level. On the larger level, subtle differences in the grass make barely-perceptible waves that imply just a hind of motion. The branch and the rock provide anchors that puntuate the scene. Something about that rock is inviting me to wade in past the grasses to explore it, but if I did that, the lovely subtlety of the scene would evaporate. It's kind of a tease, making me wonder...

Preston, the look had to be Astia with the excellent yellows and greens. A very simple and elegant scene. Most of us would have missed this subtle opportunity. The spacing of the objects and the actual positioning in the corner areas holds the somewhat very plain open grass scene all together. This is obviously well worth the LF sheet of film and processing expense......

btw: I'll be in DVNP starting tomorrow. Not sure if you guys put your trip together or not, if so, enjoy the outing....

Superb presentation. I'd love to see this poster size on a wall. Can't imaging getting tired of it anytime soon. Beautiful and interesting.

Neat comp. here, Preston. I like the fall colors in the grasses and where you've positioned the contrasting stick and rock. This feels very warm and inviting.

Love the grass shots Preston, I'm with Wayne, the branch and rock anchor the scene beautifully, excellent detail and natural color. Beautiful work.

What a study in color, detail, and fascinating patterns of the grasses. The piece of wood in the foreground and rock in the background help brig in structure and balance.

very nice image Preston

I absolutely love this. Great color and texture. I do wish the rock at the top had a little more room above it, but that's very minor.

Wow the only thing missing to complete this scene is some dog poo in the grass.

A little late to the game but sure glad I didn't miss this, Preston, as this image is truly extraordinary. The color and texture of the grasses are stunning in their own right but then to have the branch and rock set so perfectly amongst that sea of yellow and green is truly amazing. Love everything about this. Large format at its best.
